No passado dia 21 em Budapest foi celebrado um acordo entre a Graphisoft (ArchiCAD) da Hungria e a Nemetschek (AllPlan) da Alemanha , ambas da União Europeia, com vista à aquisição da primeira pela segunda, criando assim uma grande empresa de CAD para Arquitectura Europeia.
Uma alteração do mercado que irá por certo trazer alguma vitalidade ao mercado dos produtos para Projecto de Arquitectura -AEC.
O que se segue é o resultado dos testes realizados pela Graphisoft
com a versão Archicad 10 para MacTel,

Como podem ver a opinião do responsável é sintomática da óptima
impressão que ficou com as perfomances do Archicad nas máquinas
MacTel. Que corroboram a bela impressão que alguns clientes têm da
perfomance do Artlantis Studio a correr nas mesmas máquinas.
Mac Pro benchmark results
Following benchmarking, Archicad 10 was found to run 100% faster
for 3D operations. The press release below was today sent to our
media contacts globally. In-house Archicad tests revealed dramatic
performance increase using new Intel-based Apple® Macs.
Graphisoft has revealed that in performance testing, it’s award-
winning Virtual Building solution Archicad® proved up to twice as
fast on Apple’s new Intel® dual-core processor machines as
compared to Mac G5s with the same configuration. All of the Intel-
based machine types produced clear advantages.
Graphisoft carried out typical Archicad operations on all relevant
hardware and configurations. The Intel-based Mac advantage was
especially obvious when handling large files and for 3D-type
operations.
“There’s no question, these Intel-based Macs are the fastest
personal computers on the planet today. In comparison to the G5,
all of the Intel-based Macs are significantly faster. In
particular, the Mac Pro performs twice as fast as the G5 machine in
the important areas of 3D operations,” says Viktor Varkonyi, Vice
President, Product Development. “Especially on large building
projects, users will appreciate this additional performance. This
is great news for our user community. And for students, the price-
performance, compatibility and style of the new Intel-based Macs
make these machines a clear favorite.”
